Seeing as we've undoubtedly entered some sort of spinoff apocalypse within the last few months, ABC's most-acclaimed Emmy-gobbler 'Modern Family' may be next in line to give birth. Sources report that occasional guest star (and recent 'Dumb and Dumber 2' addition) Rob Riggle has been eyed for a 'Modern Family' spinoff based on his fast-talking real estate character Gil Thorpe. Should it happen, who from cast and creative would join?

Deadline first broke the news, making sure to clarify that any potential 'Modern Family' spinoff remains in the nascent stages, with multiple ideas being bandied about to center the series. Straight off their fourth consecutive Emmy win for Outstanding Comedy Series, 'Modern Family' co-creator and executive producer Steve Levitan will write the script along with co-executive producers Paul Corrigan and Brad Walsh, while series co-creator Christopher Lloyd will likely remain with 'Modern Family' proper.

Riggle has appeared in two 'Modern Family' episodes as Phil Dunphy (Ty Burrell)'s real estate rival Gil Thorpe, known for being Southern California’s most successful real estate agent, and frequently using his own name as a pun. One episode even saw Thorpe employing Claire Dunphy (Julie Bowen) for a brief period.

A potential 'Modern Family' offshoot joins the daunting gallery of spinoffs under consideration in recent months, including 'Breaking Bad''s 'Better Call Saul,' a 'Walking Dead' companion series, 'Arrow''s introduction of The Flash, 'The Vampire Diaries' and 'The Originals,' a new 'NCIS' spinoff, 'Once Upon A Time in Wonderland,' and even 'Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.''s 'Agent Carter.'

Well, what say you? 'Modern Family's success aside, would you be interested in a spinoff with Rob Riggle in the lead, or any others? Give us your suggestions after the clip below!
