Scott and Melissa Hillard are both advocates with the Mission Aviation Fellowship Ministry. Scott is a pilot and the MAF Southern Region Coordinator and Melissa is a spokesperson for the Ministry. Melissa has recently flown to Uganda and Mozambique sharing the love of Christ with others in remote areas.

MAF was founded by WWII pilots who had a vision for how aviation could be used to overcome barriers of terrain to take the Gospel to the ends of the earth. The U.S. organization was the first to take to the air. On February 23, 1946, pilot Betty Greene flew the first MAF plane on its inaugural flight, transporting tow missionaries from Wycliffe Bible Translators to a remote jungle location in Mexico.

MAF came to worldwide attention when, in 1956, MAF pilot Nate Saint and four other missionaries were martyred on a beach in Ecuador by Waorani Indians. Today MAF has grown and evolved to meet the changing needs of isolated people, and to reach them with the Gospel~and empowers others to do the same.

MAF serves seventeen countries and eight with restricted access to western missionaries. MAF has brought the Gospel to unreached people groups, planted churches, trained village pastors and leaders, hosted church conferences, transported reconciliation ministry facilitators. This organization has been honored to support church leaders by offering low-cost flights, transporting materials and supplies, and providing MAF ConnectBox technology. MAF also helps with disaster response teams, medical aid and health care, Evangelism and Discipleship.
