The public will have a chance to learn more about the Evansville Department of Metropolitan Development (DMD) and see the new “Choose not to Lose” high school crime prevention jeeps (pictured) on display at the at the Traveling City Hall meeting Wednesday, April 24th, at the Potter’s Wheel, 333 Jefferson Avenue, from 5:3opm-7pm.

Mayor Lloyd Winnecke will open the session with a welcome and introduction of city department heads and elected city and county officials. Metropolitan Development Dir. Philip Hooper will give a short PowerPoint presentation explaining how DMD works with unique resources to spur growth and development in the heart of the city. Police Chief Billy Bolin will be available to share information about the new “Choose Not to Lose” campaign launched this month involving at all local high schools. The main goal of the campaign is to encourage kids to make positive choices.

Traveling City Hall is an opportunity for residents to meet government leaders one-on-one to ask questions or simply discuss the status of our community. The meetings are open to all residents and are usually held on the last Wednesday of each month in neighborhoods across the city from 5:30 to 7 p.m.

A news conference will be held next week to announce the time, date and location for a special Traveling City Hall meeting in May.
