Mayor Lloyd Winnecke will welcome the start of the holiday season with the lighting of a Christmas tree in front of the Civic Center on Wednesday, November 20, at 4:45 p.m. The Signature Singers from Evansville’s Signature School will perform a few holiday songs and Mayor Winnecke will offer a few remarks before the tree is lit.

Special thanks to Florence Murphy for donating a Blue Spruce approximately 18-feet-tall for the City’s holiday display and to SKANSKA (formerly Industrial Contractors, Inc.) for transporting the tree to the Civic Center and installing the Christmas lights.

The Christmas tree will remain on display in front of the Civic Center building through the holiday season and will be removed sometime after January 1, 2014.
