Jeeps for Choose Not To Lose

Evansville Police Chief Billy Bolin and Assistant Fire Chief Paul Anslinger were our guests today on Wednesdays With Winnecke. The topics of discussion were the annual charity boxing match between the cops and the firefighters, plus the EPD’s new “Choose Not To Lose” program, and the EFD’s momentous anniversary.

A press conference was held on Monday out at Eastland Mall to announce the rally neat “Choose Not To Lose” program with the EVSC and Evansville Police Department and the Vanderburgh County Sheriff Department. Check out THIS POST for information about “Choose Not To Lose” or you can watch THIS VIDEO (the audio is not the best).

The 6th annual¬†911 Gives Hope¬†Guns & Hoses charity boxing event is scheduled for Saturday, April 20th at the Ford Center. Tickets are available HERE. As always, proceeds go to benefit local children’s charities. The firefighters were victorious last year and the cops are more determined than ever!

And speaking of the firefighters…can you guess how old the Evansville Fire Department is turning this year (without cheating)? Assistant Chief Anslinger and Mayor Winnecke discuss the history of the EFD and some of the changes in technology which have made fighting fires safer for everyone.
