Who can forget last summer, when the might Marvel vs. DC war raged on throughout the summer as fanboys feverishly debated whether 'The Avengers' or 'The Dark Knight Rises' was better. We're not sure that was fully settled but the Marvel vs. DC battle lied mostly dormant in the past few months. That is, until now, when 'Man of Steel' director Zack Snyder threw down the gauntlet with some harsh words for his competitors at Marvel. Find out what he said and let us know if you agree.

Snyder is doing some early press as he finishes work on 'Man of Steel' and recently spoke to SFX Magazine about his upcoming film and with 'Iron Man 3' opening this week, couldn't resist firing a shot across the Marvel bow. When speaking about how iconic and "transcendent" Superman is, Snyder had this to say about the Marvel characters:

That should be the question you’re asking Iron Man and Thor. How is it that you feel you can be making a superhero movie in a world where Superman and Batman exist?

Oh no you di-int!

We would first caution Mr. Snyder that 'Iron Man' and 'Thor' take each took place (at least partially) in the real world while Superman and Batman take place in the fictional cities of Metropolis and Gotham City so at the very least, they exist in two completely separate worlds. The people of New York City in 'Iron Man' or 'The Avengers' have no idea that Superman exists outside of a comic book because, in their world, he is just a comic book.

But we suppose he's talking about OUR Earth and that even though they take place in separate worlds, Iron Man and Thor still pale in comparison to Superman or Batman.

And to this we turn to you, dear reader. Do you agree with this assessment? Is Superman so powerful that an Iron Man movie lacks any kind of reality? What would happen if Superman faced off with The Avengers? And finally, where do you stand on this issue: Marvel or DC?
