Spring weather (whenever it decides to show up) means leaves on the trees, flowers starting to bloom, and birds chirping. It also means an uptick on road construction and maintenance projects as the ground warms up enough for crews to start digging in with little resistance.

One of what will no doubt be many projects across the city of Evansville this Spring begins Tuesday on a short stretch of Washington Avenue on the city's east side as crews begin work on a sewer project.

Eyewitness News reports the project will take place on the half mile portion of Washington Avenue from the intersection of Vann Avenue east to Stockwell Road, and will require restricting traffic to one lane in both directions. The project is expected to last roughly three weeks, weather permitting.
