We've been so busy covering the major (and ongoing) network TV stories of the past week that we almost didn't notice one of the more bizarre and intriguing nuggets of news to come out of 'It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia's upcoming ninth season. Specifically, it appears that 'Game of Thrones' showrunners David Benioff and D.B. Weiss plucked their pens out of Westeros long enough to write an upcoming episode! Will Dee go from bird to Mother of Dragons? Find out inside!

The ninth and likely penultimate season of long-running FX comedy 'It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia' won't premiere until this fall (on FXX), but that hasn't stopped the buzz around the Paddy's Pub gang's ninth year. The latest surprising tidbit about the season comes from series creator and star Rob McElhenney himself via Twitter, revealing that 'Game of Thrones' executive producers David Benioff and D.B. Weiss have written an episode for the season.

McElhenney didn't reveal any details of the episode itself, whether it would adopt any aspects of or even reference the mammothly popular HBO drama, but it's still pretty cool nonetheless. Not much other information on the ninth season of 'Always Sunny' has been made available, though we do know that 'Breaking Bad's Aaron Paul will put in an appearance.

What say you? Will 'It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia' pay homage to 'Game of Thrones,' or just steal its writers for a week? What would you like to see from the show's ninth season?
