Newburgh is a growing community. New business are coming in right and left giving residents more options in terms of dining and shopping. It's funny how you can hear your parents say "This town sure has grown up since I was a kid," and looking back, you can say the same thing with a city like Newburgh.

Bringing a Meijer store has been in discussion for a while now, but we are now one step closer to having that become a reality. According to Evansville 411 on Facebook, Meijer is tentatively planning to open the store in Newburgh by late 2018 or early 2019.

The store would be constructed on the northwest corner of Libbert Rd. and State Rd. 66. According to the design plan, there would also be a gas station on the property with three entrances, two off Libbert Rd. This would mean that the store would be located about a mile away from the Wal-Mart.

Things are still in the works with this new store, but as soon as we get any further updates, we will forward them along to you.
