This morning, we talked about used engagement rings. One of our employees' family members wants to ask his girlfriend to marry him and was given the opportunity to buy a pre-owned two-carat diamond ring for an unbelievable price but he wasn't sure if buying a used wedding ring was in bad taste. Here's what we think about it...

ASHLEY - DIGITAL MANAGING EDITOR

In my opinion, I would be happier with a bigger, better quality ring that happened to be used. But, it would have to be one that I like - not just one that happened to be a good price.

LISTENERS

We asked the tri-state what they thought. Here's what they answered!

Ward Simpson All a ring is to show other people that your taken. ( not on the market) I Been married 25 years now and haven't wore a ring now for 23 1/2 if you're faithful you don't need a ring to show anyone. I lay my head down every night to my best friend and wife Robin Simpson..

Tabitha Leigh Gibson No way kick husband butt gave me used engagement ring

Jolene Boger-Hines It is not about whether it is new or used, it is about the love that made the person buy it for their loved one. Diamonds are so expensive that some couples need to go used, save the money for the wedding and honeymoon! I returned my diamond engagement ring to a pawn shop got the Black Hills Gold wedding ring that I wanted, I kept my wedding ring that he had placed on my finger. The wedding ring is the most important part of the set of rings. (I needed a flat ring due to my work, the diamond stuck up too much. After I explained it to him, he was fine with it.)

Diane Schnur Hayden Yes but I would have the diamond reset. That way the ring part is made especially for the person.

Andrea Youngblood Stafford There is nothing wrong with a used engagement ring UNLESS it was preused by his EX

Jessica Jones Dobbs My engagement ring and wedding band was used and I absolutely love the fact that it was used. We had our pastor bless our rings before the ceremony and part of his blessing stated that we give them new purpose.

Melody Finnie Yes as long as that person didn't die wearing it.

Ashley Nikkii Turner My husband got mine at a pawn shop!! I am ok with it. I live my ring and if he went a bought it new it would have been way too much and who wants to add a payment on top of other bills right so I say go for it. If you like it and he makes it special so you have a great memory that's all that matters. It's only an object smile emoticon

Mandi Stilwell My step father bought my old set for my mother because she really liked it. She would always say how pretty it was so I sold it to him really really cheap so she could have it
