Though it may only be the end of January, and it may feel like another big movie season is wrapping up, we're only three months away from the start of the summer season, which means we're nearly ninety days out from 'Iron Man 3.' Which means the advertising blitz is about to start, and now there's a great new poster for the film to coincide with the new Super Bowl spot.

And it shows Robert Downey Jr. falling from the sky pretty violently, which seems to be setting the tone for the film. Earlier trailers have been dark, though cast and crew have suggested otherwise. There may have been an attempt to make 'Iron Man 2' the dark chapter of the franchise, but if so they botched it, along with the rest of the film. Anyway, here's the full poster:

There's going to be a lot more stuff on this film shortly, if the promotional flood of 'The Avengers' is any indicator. Here's the synopsis:

Marvel Studios’ Iron Man 3 pits brash-but-brilliant industrialist Tony Stark/Iron Man against an enemy whose reach knows no bounds. When Stark finds his personal world destroyed at his enemy’s hands, he embarks on a harrowing quest to find those responsible. This journey, at every turn, will test his mettle. With his back against the wall, Stark is left to survive by his own devices, relying on his ingenuity and instincts to protect those closest to him. As he fights his way back, Stark discovers the answer to the question that has secretly haunted him: does the man make the suit or does the suit make the man?

'Iron Man 3' opens May 3.
