INDIANAPOLIS (AP) — Drivers are facing some slick roads around central and southern Indiana after up to 3 inches of overnight snowfall. The National Weather Service has a winter storm warning in effect through this morning for counties across far southern Indiana. The weather service reports snowfalls of about 3 inches in the Lafayette area and 2.5 inches in Indianapolis.

SOUTH BEND, Ind. (AP) — A new South Bend charter school will target adults seeking to finish their high school educations. Goodwill CEO Debi Coble says the school expects 300 students the first year and a maximum of 350 by the third year. Coble says the school will be modeled on nine similar adult high schools Goodwill has established in the Indianapolis area since 2010.

INDIANAPOLIS (AP) — The Indiana Homeland Security Foundation has awarded $30,000 to 15 college students across the state. Students receiving the scholarships have volunteer experience with emergency management and first responder agencies like fire and police departments. Governor Mike Pence says the scholarships are part of an effort to "help shape the future of public safety."

NEWPORT, Mich. (AP) — The family of a Michigan woman who disappeared last month from a Halloween party is making a fresh appeal for help in the investigation. A prayer service and candlelight vigil was held Saturday for Chelsea Bruck at St. Charles Catholic Church in Newport, Michigan. Her disappearance last month prompted authorities to look for her in Michigan, Ohio and Indiana.
