GREENFIELD, Ind. (AP) — A suburban Indianapolis man has been arrested in the death of his 3-month-old son. Charles Jenkins is charged with one count of neglect of a dependent causing death. Police and paramedics were called to a home last week and found the baby unconscious while in Jenkins' care.

INDIANAPOLIS (AP) — Indiana Supreme Court Chief Justice Loretta Rush is encouraging attorneys to consider applying for a vacancy that will be created next year when Justice Brent Dickson retires. Dickson announced earlier this week that he'll retire next spring before reaching the court's mandatory retirement age of 75. The seven-member Judicial Nominating Commission will review applications and interview candidates in Indianapolis after the first of the year.

INDIANAPOLIS (AP) — Funeral services for Indianapolis broadcaster and activist Amos C. Brown have been scheduled for this weekend. Scheduled speakers include Indiana Governor Mike Pence, U.S. Representative Andre Carson and former Governor Mitch Daniels. Brown died last week at his family home in Chicago. He was 64.

INDIANAPOLIS (AP) — Indiana Governor Mike Pence has posthumously awarded the state's highest honor to late radio broadcaster Amos Brown. Pence announced Thursday that he was giving the 2015 Sachem Award to the broadcaster. Brown was outspoken about social justice issues and was well known in the African American community. He died last week.
