INDIANAPOLIS (AP) — Two men killed in an Indianapolis shooting during an apparent dice game have been identified. The Marion County Coroner's Office says Thomas Stewart and Jonte Johnson died in the shooting Monday in a home just east of the city's downtown. Police say investigators found dice and money scattered throughout the house and believe the shooting happened during a robbery.

WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. (AP) — Indiana's state climatologist says the Pacific Ocean's current El Nino weather pattern should bring Indiana a mild and dry start to its winter. Purdue University-based climatologist Dev Niyogi says past strong El Nino events have brought warmer temperatures and about half the normal amount of snow to Indiana. He says Indiana can expect a mild and dry early winter.

SPENCER, Ind. (AP) — An Indiana Department of Natural Resources dive team has detonated a mortar round found in the White River in central Indiana. Rivers found the mortar at the bottom of the river while looking for evidence near Spencer. That's about 45 miles southwest of Indianapolis. The crew then blew up the round on the river bank.

EDINBURGH, Ind. (AP) — Military officials say about 2,000 soldiers are taking part in a two-week drill at the Indiana National Guard's Camp Atterbury. Camp Atterbury says the drills are carried out at indoor training centers where the soldiers go through virtual battlefield simulations to test their reactions. The troops will be cleared for deployment overseas once they successfully complete the training.
