Following their home loss to the Kalamazoo Wings Friday night, the Evansville IceMen acquire former Wings forward Colin Murray off waivers while sending rookie forward, Tom Serratore to the Cincinnati Cyclones.

Serratore joined the team on November 8th through a trade with the Toledo Walleye, and played six games with the IceMen, picking up an assist in the November 11th loss to Orlando.

Oshawa, Ontario native, Murray, played college hockey at Castleton State, where he scored a career best 12 goals in 2011-12 while racking up 23 points in 20 games. He also topped the 20-point plateau his senior year, including a career best 17 assists. The 6’4", 25-year-old earned the ECAC EAST Player of the Week honor on two occasions and was named to the ECAC East All-Academic Team in his sophomore and senior seasons.

He played just six games with the Wings, scoring two goals over that time frame. He also led Kalamazoo in points during the preseason.

The IceMen have most of the week off to prepare for a two-game weekend series at home against in-state rivals, the Fort Wayne Komets Friday and Saturday night. Coverage begins at 7pm on ESPN Evansville 105.3 each night.

Saturday's game is Townsquare Media Night (ESPN Evansville 105.3's parent company), and will feature the annual Teddy Bear Toss for 911 Gives Hope. Fans who bring a stuffed animal to the game will have the opportunity to toss them on the ice after the IceMen's first goal of the game, whenever that may occur. All animals will be collected and professionally cleaned before being donated.
