In an effort to find the right players to fit the system of new Head Coach, Al Sims, the Evansville IceMen reach a deal that sends Assistant Team Captain, Matt Lowry to the Fort Wayne Komets in exchange for forward Thomas Frazee.

Frazee joins the IceMen with 12 goals and nine assists already to his name this season in 38 games with the Komets. The 24-year-old has posted two 3-point games this season one of which took place at the Ford Center.

He played six seasons of junior hockey in the WHL with four different teams, before beginning his pro career in the ECHL in 2011-12 with the Bakersfield Condors.

In a press release issued by the team, Coach Sims said of Frazee, “He is a big young center who had a breakout year last season...He is a goal scorer that can really help our offense.”

In exchange, the Komets get Lowry who played in all 41 IceMen games this season, his second with the team, scoring seven goals and handing out 18 assists for the IceMen. He scored the game winner in the IceMen’s come back victory over the Cincinnati Cyclones on Nov. 26. He leaves with the franchise’s 10th highest assist total with 41 helpers in IceMen career.

The IceMen return home tonight to host the Reading Royals. It will be College Night at the Ford Center. Local college students can get $13 goal zone tickets with a student ID. Coverage of tonight's game begins at 7:00pm on ESPN Evansville 105.3, and online at ESPNevansville.com.
