Human Trafficking Does Happen in Evansville

An Evansville man is in custody in Henderson after he allegedly crossed state lines with two minor girls that he reportedly forced into prostitution.

Police say that the Evansville girls, ages 15 and 17, ran away from home and went to Henderson with 31-year-old Jather Williams. The girls were allegedly taken from motel to motel along highway 41 to perform sex acts for money.

We all heard a lot about human trafficking during the days leading up to the Super Bowl in February, but most of us would never think of it happening here.
