‘How I Met Your Mother’ Final Season Premiere Photos: Will “The Locket” Divide Robin and Ted?
We’re less than a month way from ‘How I Met Your Mother”s ninth and final season premiere “The Locket,” kicking off the ultimate chapter of our nine-year long ordeal to finally meet Ms. Mosby. The long-running CBS comedy has plenty of ground to cover between now and then however, so what major conflicts are revealed in the first photos from the hour-long September 23 premiere?
Judging by the title alone, it looks as if Ted will finally come clean about finding Robin’s “Something Old” locket, once again raising the question of what feelings remain between the two that need to be resolved in time for Robin’s wedding to Barney. Elsewhere, Marshall desperately attempts to make it out of the Minnesota airport, attracting attention from an unruly passenger (‘30 Rock‘ star and ‘The View’ host Sherri Shepherd), and apparently the entire airport! From CBS’ official description of one-hour premieres “The Locket” and “Coming Back”:
“The Locket” and “Coming Back” — On their way to Long Island for their wedding weekend, Robin and Barney come across a startling family discovery. Meanwhile, Marshall sees something online that changes the course of his journey east, while Lily confronts Ted about letting go of Robin, on a special one hour of the ninth season premiere episode of HOW I MET YOUR MOTHER, Monday, Sept. 23 (8:00-9:00 PM, ET/PT) on the CBS Television Network.
So far, the final season of ‘How I Met Your Mother’ has recruited such guest stars as ‘Revenge‘ star Roger Bart, ‘The Office‘ star Ellie Kemper, Wayne Brady and John Lithgow reprising their roles as Barney’s half-brother James and biological father Jerry. In addition to other recent clarifications on the final season’s wedding weekend format, CBS also revealed that all four regulars would meet the mother (Cristin Milioti, herself a newly minted regular) prior to Ted.
