The Historic Newburgh Farm Market will launch this year’s season on Saturday, May 28th.  It is located at the corner of State Street and Water Street in Downtown Newburgh in the Edgewater Grille Parking lot.

Nestled in among historic structures and overlooking the Ohio River, this market is special. It is more than a market, it is a happening. Each week there are interactive events imbedded in the market. Along with the traditional fruit and vegetables, we feature art work from local artists and baked goods from several vendors.

This weekend Vesper Days will entertain us with her brand of music.  Adam Edwards will be doing cooking demonstrations thanks to Cleos’ generously allowing use of their kitchen. Livewell will be leading Yoga in the Park as participants look out over the River. Free face painting from Chubby Cheeks Face and Body Art 9:00-11:00.

Probably the biggest addition to our Newburgh Farmers Market is the POP Club which is Power of Produce for kids.  Kumon and Deaconess have come together to help us make this program happen.  Kids that sign up for the program will get a booklet that is a “passport to health”. Each week, the kids can participate in fun activities.  Kids can also earn tokens to purchase items of their own at the famers market by completing activities.  At different points throughout the summer they can earn prizes.  There will even be shopper in training shopping carts compliments of Schnucks.  It is all free to your kids.
