This young new year begins with a new and improved, city-wide, trash and recycling program...and with a new monthly opportunity to get up close and personal with members of the Evansville Police Department. There's lots to hear on this edition of the program.

By now you should have received information in the mail about the changes being made to the process of collecting trash and recycling. Ed Ziemer, the Deputy Director of the Evansville Water and Sewer Utility sat down with us and laid out all of the details. And from what we can tell, it's all positive. Everyone will get a free 96 gallon cart for trash and recycling...you won't have to sort your recycling anymore, just throw it all in there...yard waste and trash will be picked up together...AND your monthly bill will go DOWN.

Ed Ziemer Interview

Starting this month, you will have the opportunity each month to meet some of Evansville's finest during "Coffee With a Cop". This recurring event will take place at various Donut Bank locations around town. Assistant Chief Chris Pugh talks more about "Coffee With a Cop" and even realizes how ironic it is that this takes place at a donut shop. He even welcomes your cop-donut jokes, saying "You gotta love 'em...if somebody makes a good donut joke you just smile and say 'hey that was a good one.'"
