The Columubia Fireflies are new to baseball, but you can bet they're going to stand out.

The South Carolina-based team, which is the Class A affiliate of the New York Mets, will kick off its inaugural season in 2016 in spectacular fashion. Earlier this week, the team unveiled its new glow-in-the-dark uniforms (hats included).

According to Yahoo!, "each of the jerseys features a glow-in-the-dark portion around the team's name and the caps feature a glow-in-the-dark logo."

The Fireflies' attire continue a long tradition of minor league baseball teams sporting offbeat uniforms.

Kudos to the franchise for taking the name Fireflies and showing they can light it up just like those creatures. The team will look to, ahem, light up the scoreboard beginning on Opening Day, April 7.
