It seems like we haven't seen hockey in an ice age, but the NHL finally returns this weekend after a lockout nearly cost it the entire season.

The Los Angeles Kings begin the defense of their Stanley Cup title. History is not on their side, though. No team has won back-to-back cups since the 998 Detroit Red Wings.

There's plenty of other sports action, as well, this weekend, including a top 10 showdown on the college hardwood when Syracuse travels to Louisville for a Big East showdown.
