As we continue to foam at the mouth for the March 31 premiere of HBO’s ‘Game of Thrones‘ season 3, most recently from the cryptic three-eyed raven teaser released earlier today, fans of the series take solace in at least one thing. Come hell or “Blackwater,” original series creator George R.R. Martin will write one of the episodes from the coming season! But after the season 2 triumph of “Blackwater,” which hour from ‘Game of Thrones’ comign season will Martin tackle this time? Find out the latest on ‘Game of Thrones’ season 3 inside!

Fans of HBO’s ‘Game of Thrones’ adaptation well know that book creator George R.R. Martin maintains an active involvement in the series, writing at least one episode per season. Last season Martin took on writing duties for the epic, challenging hour-long battle of Blackwater, so what will the author pen this year?

From Martin’s personal LiveJournal page:

The episode I scripted for the third season of HBO’s GAME OF THRONES has been retitled.

It was formerly “Autumn Storms,” which I never much liked… but the episode did have a lot of rain in it.

The rain went away. So did the title.

The episode is now “Chains.” I like that better. And it works on both a literal and metaphorical level.

It will still be the seventh show of the season, episode 307.

It isn’t exactly known what “Chains” would entail the way “Blackwater”s premise was fairly self-explanatory, but we do know that one presumed episode/sequence from the coming season gave George R.R. Martin quite a bit of grief both to write originally, and see realized in live-action. We’ll leave that one to spoilerists and fans to interpret.

What say you? Are you excited enough for ‘Game of Thrones’ season 3, let alone to see George R.R. Martin’s episode “Chains?” Tell us what you’re most looking forward to from the new season (premiering March 31) in the comments!
