Arizona Representative Gabrielle Giffords is stepping down from her seat in Congress. Her last act as a member of the House will be to attend President Obama's State of the Union address Tuesday.

Giffords was the target of a shooting rampage at a Tuscon Safeway last January.  Among the six people killed that day were a federal judge and a 9-year-old girl born on 9/11.  The alleged gunman, Jared Lee Loughner, is facing multiple federal charges and has pleaded "not guilty".

Giffords announced her resignation on YouTube, Facebook, Twitter and her website.
