Four Freedoms Veterans Parade is proud to announce Mayor Lloyd Winnecke and Captain Robert Jornlin as the co-Grand Marshals for this year’s parade. The parade is scheduled for November 8 at 2:30 pm on Riverside Drive in Evansville.

Mayor Lloyd Winnecke as the 34th mayor of Evansville has shown and continues to support the veterans in this community. The mayor understands the sacrifices that not only these men and women have made to protect our freedoms, but also the sacrifices their families made. He realizes that this parade is just a small way for the community to take the opportunity to recognize these heroes and invites everyone to come out and cheer the heroes along Riverside Drive.

Captain Robert Jornlin, will complete 14 years as Captain of the LST 325 this year. He was an engineering officer in the navy on two LST’s, helping put one back in commission for the ‘Cuban Missile Crisis’.  He left active duty in 1965 and the reserves in 1969 at rank of LT.

Captain Jornlin worked in agricultural sales for 30 years.  Has been married to his wife, Lois, for 49 years, has two married children and five grandchildren.  He is active in several service organizations including American Legion, Lions Club, his church, and the USS LST Ship Memorial.
