Former UE Baseball Coach Dave Schrage Takes Same Position at Butler

The Butler Bulldogs baseball team announced former University of Evansville baseball coach, Dave Schrage would be taking over the program.

Schrage was Head Coach of the Purple Aces from 2003 through the 2006 season where he compiled a 130-108 record and led the team to their second best win total, along with their first ever Missouri Valley Conference and tournament wins during the his final year with the team (2006). The team concluded that season with a trip to the NCAA Regionals in Virginia.

Before his run at UE, Schrage served as head coach at Waldorf University, Northern Iowa, and Northern Illinois. The success of his final season with the Purple Aces took him north to South Bend where he served as head coach from 2007 through 2010.

He had been serving as coach at South Dakota University since 2012 before Tuesday's announcement.
