The end of 2018 brought with it the news that PG, a local music hotspot and popular hangout, would be closing it's doors. 2019 is bringing new life to the former PG on Franklin Street. It seems that Evansville business woman and all around champion of community, always advocating for all things local, Amy Word-Smith will be opening a new 21-and-over restaurant that will be known as Amy's on Franklin. Here's what she had to say about the new restaurant:

“Nestled on the east end of West Frankin, in a sleek and modern rehab of an historic 19th century building, Amy’s on Franklin stands out not only with its famous purple exterior but its eclectic and creative menu comprises Midwest comfort food heavily influenced by the French Quarter, Mexico and Texas. This unique take on staple cuisine, when paired with our custom developed cocktail program, wine expertise, and assortment of craft beers, put AOF in the forefront of the area’s culinary scene.”

Amy is anything but new to the restaurant and entertainment business. She is the owner of Lamasco's located on Franklin Street, just down the road from the new venture, where on any given night of the week you can find some of the best pizza and deep-fried cheeseballs in Evansville and great entertainment too. Amy is the owner of The Dapper Pig in the Haynie's Corner Art's District too where they serve up creative and eclectic fusion dishes in a renovated historic home. We have no doubt that whatever Amy Word-Smith is cooking up at Amy's on Franklin, it will be delicious! Laissez les bons temps rouler!!!
