History was made last night in Ottawa, Ontario, Canada last night when former IceMen goaltender, Chris Driedger made his NHL debut near the end of the second period against the New York Rangers.

Trailing 5-1, Senators coach, Dave Cameron pulled starter Andrew Hammond, giving Driedger the chance to show off his skills. And show off he did, stopping all 10 shots he faced over the remainder of the game including this one from Rick Nash.

This is Driedger's second stint of the season on the Senators' roster after being called up on February 17th. He was sent back to the IceMen on March 2nd having seen no game action thanks to the aforementioned Hammond getting on a hot streak. An injury to Craig Anderson prompted the Senators to recall him once again on March 17th. Ottawa currently holds the second Wild Card spot in the NHL's Eastern Conference with 85 points.

Driedger's former team, the IceMen are on the road tonight in Cincinnati, and Saturday in Toledo before returning home to the Ford Center for the final home game of the season.
