We all know that a lot of the crazy criminal and dumb news stories come out of Florida, but this latest story is truly crazy!

A school district in Florida is getting heavy criticism on social media for a form they send home in their student handbooks last week.

The Leon County School District came under fire for a "Pledge" Wavier form that was sent home to students. The waiver would allow students to not stand and recite the Pledge of Allegiance if their parents approved.

Below is a picture of parents response to the waiver and that was posted on Facebook:

According to Business Insider; "The form was sent out to comply with a state law that requires the district to give students the option to abstain from the Pledge of Allegiance, Leon County Schools spokesperson Chris Petley told ABC27. This is the first year the school district chose to include the form in the student handbook"

The article goes on to sat the form has been removed; "Because of the criticism, superintendent Jackie Pons decided to remove the waiver from remaining student handbooks. As of Tuesday morning, the form had been removed, and parents would instead be required to sign a form stating they have read the student handbook, according to Petley. The handbook now includes language taken directly from the law instead of a notice from the school district."

How do you feel about parents having the right to let their children not say the Pledge of Allegiance in school?
