Fires Ravage Strawberry Hill Rd. in Evansville, IN

Yesterday around 6:30 p.m., several houses in the Strawberry Hill Road subdivision in the McCutchanville area caught fire. Firefighters have confirmed that one person has died due to the fires.

This morning, the Vanderburgh County Coroner’s office identified the victim as Donald R. Lambert, 81, of Evansville the resident where the fire started. The Coroner’s office is still determining cause of death.

Three homes and a possible fourth residence were damaged beyond repair.

According to Eyewitness News, “Multiple agencies, including German Township, Ohio Township, Indiana State Police, Evansville Police and the Vanderburgh County Sheriff’s Office, are assisting in these fires.  And, the Red Cross has been dispatched to assist firefighters on the scene.”
