SUMMARY:911 Gives Hope for the Holidays
DESCRIPTION:  For this upcoming Holiday Season\, the Townsquare Media Radio Stations (WKDQ\, WJLT\, WDKS\, WGBF-FM\, WGBF-AM) will team up with Henderson Chevrolet\, Buick\, GMC and the 911 Gives Hope charity to present the 3rd annual “911 Gives Hope for the Holidays.” Last year we successfully filled a 53 foot trailer with toys that were distributed to the Children’s Wards at local hospitals. This year all 5 radio stations will again partner together for a mass broadcast “Radiothon” to urge the public to donate toys\, clothing\, gift certificates and more to Children’s Wards at Deaconess Hospital\, St. Mary’s Hospital\, Methodist Hospital\, Evansville Psychiatric Children’s Center and the Ronald McDonald House.  The Radiothon will begin 5am on Friday\, December 2nd and will run thru 6pm on Sunday\, December 4th. The radio stations will broadcast live from the Wal-Mart on Burkhardt the entire weekend with additional broadcasts\, live from Henderson Chevrolet in Henderson\, KY. Local Fire Departments\, Police Departments\, Sheriff’s Deparments and AMR will be in attendance all weekend in an effort to fill another 53 foot trailer. DESCRIPTION:The Vanderburgh Medical Alliance Annual Style Show\, “Wonderful World of Fashion”\, will be held Thursday April 19\, 2012 in the Ballroom of the Airport Holiday Inn.  The Vanderburgh Medical Alliance (VMA) has been in existence for 83 years and this 25th anniversary of the Style Show renews the longest running fundraising style show in the area and is an event to honor and celebrate the Evansville Bicentennial.  This show generates thousands of dollars in support of non-profit\, healthcare related organizations such as Meals On Wheels\, Ark Crisis Children’s Center\, Youth Resources\, The Pirouette Project\, Youth First\, Junior Mental Health Association and Easter Seals\, among others.  The VMA also provides scholarships for students in the medical profession.    Doors will open at 10:00 a.m. for a silent auction to be followed by lunch and the show featuring fashions from locally owned stores.    Tickets are available to the public for $40.
