The Evansville Police Department is once again inviting residents to see what it takes to keep the streets safe during their Fall Citizens Academy.

The biannual event is designed to give those interested an inside look at the various units within the Department such as K-9, S.W.A.T., Firearms, Crime Scene Investigation, and more. Each class will be led by a member of the Police Department involved with that respective unit.

Guest speakers such as Police Chief Billy Bolin, Vanderburgh County Prosecutor Nick Herman, and Mayor Lloyd Winnecke will also be present at select classes.

The Fall Academy, like the Spring edition, meets every Tuesday evening from 6:00 to 9:00 p.m. at the C.K. Newsome Center on Walnut Street in downtown Evansville. The 10-week Academy begins September 6th and concludes on November 15th.

Registration is free and underway now, however the EPD encourages registering as early as possible as space is limited.
