The always-changing Evansville IceMen roster received a new addition Wednesday afternoon when the team announced they had acquired defenseman, Brandon Martell from Rapid City completing a trade from earlier in the season.

The deal originated back on October 14th when the IceMen sent forward Dylan Clarke to the Rush for a player to be named later <SPOILER ALERT!> That player is Martell.

The Andover, Minnesota native, in his second ECHL season, has played in 15 games for Rapid City this season, scoring two goals, and recording an assist during that time.

The 6’3”, 212-pound defenseman played college hockey at "THE" Ohio State University, scoring one goal and helping on seven more during his 62 games with the Buckeyes. He also received Academic All-Big Ten honors twice during his time at Ohio State.

Before joining Rapid City, Martell spent the 2013-2014 season playing 53 games with the Kalamazoo Wings where he scored four goals and recorded six points on the season.

The IceMen return to the Ford Center Friday and Saturday night to host in-state rivals, the Ft. Wayne Komets. Tickets for both games are available through the Ford Center box office, and online through Ticketmaster.

Coverage of both games begin at 7pm on ESPN Evansville 105.3 and online at ESPNevansville.com.

Saturday's game will feature the annual Teddy Bear Toss for 911 Gives Hope. Bring a stuffed animal to the game and after the IceMen's first goal of the night, toss them on the ice. All donations will be professionally cleaned and turned over to 911 Gives Hope, where they will distribute them to area hospitals for the children spending the holidays in those facilities.
