Evansville Healthcare Innovator Passes Away

The former CEO of Welborn Baptist Hospital, Marjorie Z. Soyugenc, died yesterday after an extended illness. She was 72 years old. Soyugenc helped bring innovations to the community like LifeFlight helicopter medical services and MRI to Evansville.After the closing of Welborn Hospital she was CEO of the Welborn Baptist Foundation an organization that gave out over $24 million in grants to nonprofit organizations.Soyugenc was a director of Old National Bancorp and of the Federal Reserve Bank and was a longtime board member and advocate of Southwestern Healthcare, Inc.
