The 97th West Side Nut Club Fall Festival is underway this week, and while the Evansville Police Department will have a large and visible presence, they can't be everywhere and see everything. That's where you can help.

The Department posted a reminder on their Facebook page Monday morning that if you see something a bit out of place or suspicious, make sure you report it to someone.

Suspicious activity could be a number of things. It could be a backpack or any type of bag left on the ground unattended. It could be a person causing trouble in some fashion, or appearing they may be getting ready to cause some sort of disturbance.

Now, this doesn't give you free reign to profile people, or assume they're going to cause trouble because they look or dress a certain way. The Department is simply asking that if you notice something appears to be a bit off, let them, a firefighter, or member of the West Side Nut Club know as soon as possible. As usual, they'll be set up at the intersection of 10th and Franklin right before the entrance to the games and rides. The Vanderburgh County Sheriff's Office will be on site, set up in their usual spot at the intersection of 11th and Franklin.
