Fans of the beloved 'ElfQuest' comic book series will be happy to know that movie adaptation is finally making strides towards the big screen.

It's about time, don't you think? Warner Bros. announced a few years ago that they were working on an 'ElfQuest' movie, but plans fell through earlier this year. Now, Variety reports that producers Stephanie Thorpe and Paula Rhodes announced at the American Film Market that they recently acquired the rights, and are planning to see the movie through.

"With their deep love and understanding of the property, they represent a new direction for ElfQuest," stated comic co-creator Wendy Pini," who continued by citing the production pair's "new creative energy and new connections in the larger media."

The 1978 'ElfQuest' comics follow a tribe of elves living on the World of Two Moons and are driven from their homes by humans, leading them to find the companionship of other elves. The official website, ElfQuest.com, boasts 10 million viewers per month and a dedicated fanbase, proving there are still fans of the original comics out there.
