Evansville’s Don Mattingly will spend a few more years with the Dodgers. CBSSports.com and ESPN are reporting that an agreement has reached for a multi-year extension to Mattingly’s contract.

An official announcement is expected later this week on the deal that will keep Mattingly in place as manager through 2016. He was already under contract for 2014.

Mattingly, 52, has been the Dodgers skipper since 2011, when he replaced Joe Torre. He has led the team to winning season for his three years as manager.

“Donnie Baseball” still lives in Evansville and is enjoying the rest of the off-season with his family.

You can congratulate Mattingly on his new contract at the 2014 Night of Memories at the Vanderburgh County 4H Center on January 11.
