Do You Think David Ortiz Has Used PEDs? — Sports Survey of the Day
The surprise of the season so far has been the return of Boston Red Sox designated hitter David Ortiz. A new reports from the Boston Globe suggests there might be something to his fantastic start.
Ortiz is pretty much all that’s left from that magical 2004 season when the Red Sox won the World Series for the first time in 86 years. He went down in 2012 with an ankle injury, and some expected the 37-year-old to just hang it up. Instead, he’s come back in a big way. So far in 2013 he’s batting .381 with 17 RBIs and four home runs.
The Boston Globe asked the question many probably wondered: Does it have to do with performance-enhancing drugs? Most players, after all, don’t get better with age. Some players who were great well into their late 30s, like Barry Bonds and Roger Clemens, have ties to PEDs.
