This past week, I took my wedding and anniversary rings in to my local jeweler to be resized. After a quick inspection, I was shocked to learn both of them were missing prongs - both on the main diamond and surrounding smaller diamonds.

My jeweler told me that it was a good thing I brought them in when I did because I was about to lose my diamonds. EEEK! That's kind of the most important part of a ring, ya know! I had no idea that you should have your rings inspected annually for missing prongs. Even if you can see your own prongs, they should be tested for additional security.

So, that's your assignment for this coming week, my friends - get your jewelry professionally cleaned and inspected. :) Click here for a list of jewelry repair shops in the area.
