According to a Match.com survey of 4,000 singles, a solid chunk of meat eaters consider vegetarianism a dating deal breaker.

Thirty percent of carnivores answered that they would not go out with a vegetarian or a vegan. Vegetarians, however, proved to be more open-minded when it comes to diet and dating as only four percent said they wouldn’t go out with someone who does eat meat.

Biological anthropologist and Match.com adviser Dr. Helen Fisher believes meat eaters are reluctant to date vegetarians because sharing food is an established human ritual, and the restrictions vegetarians have make this more difficult to do. She also added that herbivores are generally viewed as being “high maintenance.”
