CVB Breaks Ground on Sports Complex

Ground has been broken for the new Evansville Convention & Visitors Bureau Sports Complex. Officials from the city of Evansville and Vanderburgh County joined the CVB in turning shovels at the site of the 96- acre complex.

Eight baseball-softball fields will be located on land adjacent to the Goebel Soccer Fields on Green River Road.

The county lodging tax will fund the $14-million project.

Bob Warren, the Director of the Evansville Convention and Visitors Bureau says that the new facility will bring between $13 and $16-million annually to the Evansville area. Hotels, restaurants and shopping centers are expected to benefit from the sports complex.
