A judge may have ruled that the proposed display of crosses on the riverfront is unconstitutional, but that hasn’t stopped the display or the ceremony to celebrate the display.

The Kunkel Group offered the McCurdy parking lot (on Riverside Drive) as a location for the 30 crosses to be displayed. A ceremony will to celebrate the opening of the display will be held in the McCurdy parking lot Sunday. Music will begin at 2:30 and the ceremony will be from 3-4.

Cross the River Evansville is also using a Facebook page to promote the event and Cross the River t-shirts are also available.

Shirts can be purchased today from 9 a.m. to noon at The Cathedral, 5000 N. First Ave. and from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. at Maranatha Baptist Church, 3200 Casey Road in Newburgh. Youth through XL shirts are  $10 and 2X-6X are $12.
