Construction Planned on Busy East Side Road Could Cause Traffic Headaches

The Evansville Water & Sewer Utility will be closing a portion of a busy east side road and it could cause some big headaches for motorists. According to a Facebook post from Evansville Mayor, Lloyd Winnecke, the Evansville Water Sewer Utility will be performing replacement and upgrade work on a portion of South Burkhardt Road between the Lloyd Expressway and Lincoln Avenue. Now, if you've ever been on the east side of Evansville around rush hour traffic time, you know just how busy this stretch of road can be. While the entire stretch of Burkhardt from the Lloyd to Lincoln won't be closed, a good portion of it will be. All of this starts on Monday, August 20th so if you travel that area, I would find an alternate route now and plan ahead.
