If there's ever a trivia question that reads, "Who was the first player in Evansville IceMen history to be called up to the NHL?" We now have an answer.

The IceMen announced on Tuesday that goalie Chris Driedger has been called up to the Ottawa Senators of the NHL. The rookie leaves the IceMen after appearing in 36 of 50 games this season where he lead the ECHL in saves (1,003), and was second in minutes played (933).

Recalled on an emergency basis, Driedger will dress for the Senators Wednesday night when they host the Montreal Canadiens in his NHL debut. On two separate occasions this season, Dreidger was called to the Binghamton Senators of the AHL where he won both of his starts this year.

Meanwhile, his former team, the IceMen, are on the road tonight in Cincinnati to take on the Cyclones. The game will be broadcast on ESPN Evansville 105.3, and online at ESPNevansville.com with coverage beginning at 6:20pm.
