Children’s Museum of Evansville – Special Holiday Hours and Attractions

Celebrate the holiday season at The Koch Family Children’s Museum of Evansville with the return of seasonal favorites such as Happy Noon Years! Kids can’t stay up until midnight? Join us December 31st for a dance party, magic shows, and of course our big ball drop and bubble pop at noon!

The Children’s Museum will have the following special holiday hours:

  • Monday, December 23rd: 9am – 4pm
  • Christmas Eve and Christmas Day: CLOSED
  • Thursday, December 26th to the 31st: Open until 6pm
  • New Year’s Day: CLOSED.

Also there are just a few weeks left to visit the traveling exhibit, How People Make Things, at cMoe. It tells that story by linking familiar childhood objects to a process of manufacturing that combines people, ideas and technology.

How People Make Things, inspired by the factory tour segments from the Mister Rogers’ Neighborhood television series, offers hands-on activities using real factory tools and machines to create objects with four manufacturing processes – molding, cutting, deforming and assembly. Visitors can use a die cutter to make a box and a horse, operate a 3-axis mill to carve a block of wax, and race to see who assembles a replica of the signature trolley from Mister Rogers’ Neighborhood faster.

How People Make Things was created by Children’s Museum of Pittsburgh in collaboration with Family Communications, Inc. (FCI), the producer of Mister Rogers’ Neighborhood, and the University of Pittsburgh Center for Learning in Out-of-School Environments (UPCLOSE). The exhibit was made possible with support from the National Science Foundation and The Grable Foundation. Locally, the exhibit is brought to cMoe by Berry Plastics, Koch Enterprises, Inc, Atlas Van Lines, Shelter Moving & Storage, Inc., and ARC Construction.

The mission of the Koch Family Children’s Museum of Evansville (cMoe) is to spark the curious minds and imagination of children and their families through dynamic exhibits, programs and activities. The museum is located at the corner of 5th and Locust Streets in Downtown Evansville. For additional information, please visit their website or call (812) 464-cMoe (2663).
