The Koch Family Children’s Museum of Evansville (cMoe) is excited to announce it’s first-ever Ignite It! Creativity Forum to be held on Wednesday, March 11, 2015. cMoe was built on creativity and dreams, and a sense of what could and should be. It’s a magical place of discovery and learning for children, and it’s also a beautiful example of what can happen when we nurture creativity not just in our children, but in ourselves and our community.

The Ignite It! Creativity Forum luncheon will take place on Wednesday, March 11, 2015 from 11:30am-1pm at the Old Post Office. Hedda Sharapan, Director of Early Childhood Initiatives for The Fred Rogers Company will speak to the topic “It’s Good to be Curious.” The cost to attend is $50 per person and $400 for a table of 8.

Following the luncheon, cMoe will offer a professional development workshop from 3pm-5pm at Central Library. The topic will be “What do you do with the mad that you feel? Helping children deal with their angry feelings.” The cost is $10 per person and CEU credits will be available through the University of Southern Indiana.

Ms. Sharapan recently celebrated the start of her 48th year with Fred Rogers and the small nonprofit company that he founded. Hedda holds a master’s degree in Child Development from the University of Pittsburgh. She worked on the Mister Rogers’ Neighborhood series from its very beginning and currently consults on television scripts for Daniel Tiger’s Neighborhood. Hedda has received numerous awards; and is a highly sought-after speaker at national and statewide education conferences. Through her work, Hedda is dedicated to carrying on the legacy of creativity and learning inspired by her mentor and friend to all…Fred Rogers.

The forum is presented by Old National Bank. Ignite It! is a chance for business and community leaders, educators, parents and partners to come together to be inspired to invest in innovative thinking. Proceeds will support cMoe’s work in early childhood education, including exhibits, programs and community outreach.
