This week we said goodbye to a number of celebrities we fell in love with over the years through their memorable and relatable characters.

Dick Beals, who lent his high-pitched voice to the characters of Gumby and Speedy the Alka-Seltzer kid, passed away May 29, but people were still mourning the loss into the weekend. Kathryn Joosten, who played Karen McCluskey on ‘Desperate Housewives’ and Dolores Landingham on ‘The West Wing,’ died on June 2 after a lengthy battle with lung cancer.

Following close after that was the news that iconic ‘Family Feud’ host Richard Dawson passed away from cancer.

We also had to say farewell this week to Ray Bradbury, the famed author of ‘Fahrenheit 451′ and the television host of ‘The Ray Bradbury Theater.’

As tragic as these events were, there was also cause for celebration. Whether it was for Queen Elizabeth’s Diamond Jubilee, the 2012 MTV Movie Awards or the 2012 CMT Music Awards, chances are you were happy about something this week.

We know Miley Cyrus and Liam Hemsworth definitely were because the celebrity couple announced their engagement on Wednesday. Though, that news was quickly overshadowed by Amanda Bynes’ latest crazy moment when she Tweeted to President Barack Obama to “fire the cop who arrested [her].”

Relive and reflect on the most notable moments through some of the best photos of the week.
