On today's edition of Wednesdays With Winnecke, we talked about some event that are coming up NEXT week to celebrate National Bicycle Month, and just ways in general to get out and get active in Evansville.

Evansville Mayor Lloyd Winnecke was joined today by Bob Warren from the Evansville Convention & Visitors Bureau to give us an update on the downtown hotel project. We also talked with USI student Emily Ellison to recap the Global Youth Service Day over this past weekend. Now you can hear the whole show.

This week's edition Wednesdays With Winnecke was spent talking about the creation of "We Are Evansville." Mayor Winnecke was joined by two of the USI students responsible for this grass roots movement.

On this week's edition of Wednesdays With Winnecke we talk to a couple members of the Evansville Sports Corporation. We review the recent GLVC basketball tournament and future sporting events. We also talk about the Salvation Army's annual War on Hunger.

Evansville Police Chief Billy Bolin and Assistant Fire Chief Paul Anslinger were our guests today on Wednesdays With Winnecke. The topics of discussion were the annual charity boxing match between the cops and the firefighters, plus the EPD's new "Choose Not To Lose" program, and the EFD's momentous anniversary.

Last week Evansville Mayor Lloyd Winnecke gave his annual State of the City address. On this week's edition of Wednesdays With Winnecke, he gives a brief recap of that speech. He also had a discussion with Allen Mounts about the "Smart City 2.0" project.

There are lots of important events coming up in Evansville, and we had the chance to shed some light on two of them this morning on Wednesdays With Winnecke. First we discussed the Global Youth Service Day with Clean Evansville. We then talked about the 5th annual Homeless Connect Project happening this Thursday.

Meth production and use is an ongoing problem that isn't slowing down...in fact, the number of meth labs seem to be growing each year. But we're not giving up. Mayor Winnecke's No Meth Task Force and the EPD's Meth Suppression Unit are working harder than ever.

The Deaconess GLVC Basketball Tournament is back in Evansville and happening this weekend! Mayor Winnecke was joined by guests Doug Claybourn and Pam Hight to talk about the tourney, other event this weekend and other athletic events coming to town.
