4 Dead, 16 Injured in Fort Hood Shooting

Four people, including the gunman, were killed and 16 others injured in a shooting at Fort Hood in Killeen, Texas Wednesday evening.  Fort Hood officials said the gunman was a soldier who had been receiving mental health treatment and that he died of a self-inflicted gunshot wound.

The Blue Angels are coming to Evansville for the 2015 Shriners Fest. According to the Blue Angels website, the precision flying team will be in town on June 27 and 28 of next year.

Work Zone Safety Week in the Evansville Area and Throughout Indiana

Last evening as I was driving home on I-164, I witnessed a scene that reminded me that this is National Work Zone Awareness Week in Evansville and throughout Indiana.  The scene, located between the Lloyd Expressway and Morgan Ave. on I-164, depicts the number of highway workers killed this past year while performing their duties.  It's purpose is to remind us to slow down and be extra careful in highway work zones.

The semi-annual curbside service is available to city residents who pay for trash service with their water bill, including newly-annexed areas.
