Indiana has received a $1 million grant to support students in completing college.
Governor Mike Pence announced earlier this week that the Lumina Foundation and Complete College America had given the state the generous three-year grant to lend technical assistance for a program called “Guided Pathways to Success.” This program was established to help students manage their education without requiring them to go further into debt.
The big news of the week is that the Indiana State Supreme Court has overturned the Smokefree ordinance in Evansville. In a nutshell, they had an issue with the exemption that was extended to our riverboat casino.
A controversial piece of Indiana legislation that would make it mandatory for welfare recipients to submit to random drug tests, as well as limit food stamps funds for only nutritional items is advancing to the state Senate, despite concerns over violation of human rights and overall cost.
